North Korea is sending Russia an additional 30,000 troops, roughly twice the previous tranche of fighters. Like their predecessors, these troops will be mere cannon fodder. They will be poorly integrated into the Russian forces, sent to face certain death with minimal knowledge of Russian language or tactics. Russia has been assisting Iran with satellite surveillance and targeting information that has enabled Tehran to hit American facilities with greater accuracy. Despite its own heavy losses, Russia has been providing Tehran with drones, drone components and other supplies. Over the last month, Iran has dispatched senior commanders, military advisers and missile-and drone-related equipment to Yemen. The rebel group has opened a second front in the Iran War, closing the Bab el Mandab strait to shipping headed for Saudi ports. Tehran reportedly has pressed the Houthis to close the strait entirely, should the U.S. begin to hit the Iranian power grid. Given their previous support for Tehran when they fired missiles at Israel during both the 2025 Israeli-Iran conflict and again from March through June this year in support of Tehran, they seem likely to do as Tehran asks.
